Mayor Howie Grimm

Mayor, Everglades City

Mayor Howell Grimm, Jr., better known as “Howie”, is a 4th generation Florida native.  He was born in Ft. Myers, FL and grew up in Marathon, FL.  In 1978, Howie moved to Everglades City where he opened Everglades Fish Corporation in 1979.  Currently he is the proprietor of his family’s business Grimm’s Stone Crab, Inc, which was established in 2003.

Howie has been an active member of the Everglades City Government since 1995, when he was appointed to the Everglades City’s CATF Committee for CDBG Funding.  He served over 6 years as a committee member on the Everglades City Planning and Zoning Committee. In 2013, he was elected to be a Everglades City Council Member.  On September 5, 2015, Howie was selected by council to serve as Pro Tem Mayor and was formally elected by the citizens of Everglades City as the Mayor of the city on November 28, 2017. 

Howie is married to his lovely wife, Deanna. He has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
